Unsuccessful technology initiatives have drawn a great deal of press interest in recent years. Failed projects and cost overruns are common. While software and consulting firms are often blamed, the search for those “responsible” often finds fault with all involved parties. This climate raises important issues:

  • University executives bear ultimate responsibility for the success of these initiatives
  • Assigning blame externally does little to mitigate the effects on the institution
  • Responsible managers rarely have the depth of experience required to avoid all problems
  • Coaching by a trusted advisor provides important, and inexpensive, insurance

We bring the required skills and experience to bear on these situations, including:
  • Project experience
  • Troubleshooting history of what can go wrong
  • Understanding of the common traps
  • Cultural awareness of campus environments
  • Appreciation of software vendor and consulting firm goals, objectives and customer management strategies
